A constraint-free phase field model for ferromagnetic domain evolution.
A continuum constraint-free phase field model is proposed to simulate the magnetic domain evolution in ferromagnetic materials. The model takes the polar and azimuthal angles (ϑ1,ϑ2), instead of the magnetization unit vector m(m1,m2,m3), as the order parameters. In this way, the constraint on the magnetization magnitude can be exactly satisfied automatically, and no special numerical treatment ...
متن کاملA Phase Model of Temperature-Dependent Mammalian Cold Receptors
We present a tractable stochastic phase model of the temperature sensitivity of a mammalian cold receptor. Using simple linear dependencies of the amplitude, frequency, and bias on temperature, the model reproduces the experimentally observed transitions between bursting, beating, and stochastically phase-locked firing patterns. We analyze the model in the deterministic limit and predict, using...
متن کاملExistence of Solutions to a Phase-field Model with Phase-dependent Heat Absorption
We consider a phase-field model for a phase change process with phase-dependent heat absorption. This model describes the behaviour of films exposed to radiative heating, where the film can change reversibly between amorphous and crystalline states. Existence and uniqueness of solutions as well as stability are established. Moreover, a maximum principle is proved for the phase-field equation.
متن کاملTemperature-dependent model of human cardiac sodium channel
Cardiac sodium channels are integral membrane proteins whose structure is not known at atomic level yet and their molecular kinetics is still being studied through mathematical modeling. This study has focused on adapting an existing model of cardiac Na channel to analyze molecular kinetics of channels at 9-37°C. Irvine et al developed a Markov model for Na channel using Neuronal Network Model ...
